Shop Update
It’s been a while since we sent out a newsletter because it’s been a very busy and exciting month at Bel Mondo! We’ve made lots of changes in the shop and are now proud owners of a fantastic Lavazza Coffee machine so you can buy a wonderful, Italian coffee next time you are in the store. Make sure you allow some time to prop yourself up at the bar, browse through a magazine and enjoy the coffee of your choice.

Peter Blakeway Cooking Series Update
Our Cooking Series with Peter Blakeway has been hugely successful with all classes fully booked – and we even added in an extra Amalfi Coast evening. We have made great new friends too. One more class to go – next week’s Paris class. We look forward to another fun & informative evening.
We are pleased to announce that we will run a September Series with Peter so look out for dates and menus over the next couple of weeks.

Tastings Evenings
These have become hugely popular gatherings for groups of friends, work colleagues, church groups, mothers groups, Bridal parties etc. Gather a group of between 10 and 20 people and spend an evening with us in store. Grant & Claudia will give tours of the shop explaining how to use many of the great products as well as giving demonstrations and tastings of various food items, wines and liquors and Pizzas.

Pizza Maker Oven
Exclusive in the Bay to Bel Mondo, the Pizza Maker Oven is one of our most popular products and usually the highlight of our Special Tastings Evenings. As seen on TV One’s “The Food Truck” show on Sunday 3rd July – this portable pizza oven won over Chef, Michael Van De Elzen when he needed to establish -“Which cooking method will produce the fastest, most scrumptuous pizza?”. The Pizza Maker Oven got his vote over a traditional oven or BBQ.

Winter Recipe
Using one of our new products “Mutti Tomato Vinegar” – this delicious and nutritious Stew is perfect for these colder nights. Collect all the ingredients next time you are in the store.
Claudias Winter Bean Stew
Ingredients
1 ) Extra Virgin Olive Oil….to just cover base of the pan
2) Crushed Garlic
3) ½ Tube Tomato Paste
4) 1 Chopped onion
Ras el Hanut spice + curry + chilli powder
4-5 Tablespoons “Mutti Tomato Vinegar”
¾ cup Beef or Vegetable Stock
1 tin Mettaliana Borlotti Beans
1 tin Mettaliana Red Kidney Beans
1 tin Ceres Pinto beans or Mettaliana Cannelini Beans
Method
1. Drain beans. Saute`ingredients 1-4
2. Add beans,sprinkle with black pepper, salt , chilli powder, hot curry & ras el hanout (to taste)
3)Add ¾ cup beef/veg stock & simmer
4) In last 2 minutes of simmering add 4 to 5 Tblespoons of Mutti tomato vinegar
Serve with a large glass of Sangre de Toro red wine & fresh bread
